Warranty
Howell Race Engineering Ltd warrants its workmanship on road-going vehicles which are of standard factory tune. Due to the use of aftermarket products whose suppliers offer no warranty, it is not possible for Howell Race Engineering Ltd to offer any warranty on engines or cars fitted with modified engines.
Specialist products intended for race use are produced to high standards but carry no warranty. If Howell Race Engineering Ltd applies a fair-play contribution following an engine failure, the engine must be returned complete. No fair-play labour applies to an engine returned stripped in any way.
Vehicles used on a test track, race track or track-day event have no warranty due to the strenuous loads applied. Engine-management systems that have been replaced or modified also result in no warranty because original components of unknown history may operate under higher loads.
Any components manufactured by Howell Race Engineering Ltd will be manufactured to standard tolerances of +/- 0.001 inch. Warranty claims are return-to-base. The customer is responsible for delivery and collection costs.
Governing law and jurisdiction
All sales, whether within the United Kingdom or internationally, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Orders
Payment or partial deposit payment of an invoice is considered an order unless cancelled within one month. Electronic messages asking for works to be carried out are also taken as a direct order.
Goods must be paid for in full before dispatch. Custom-built and correctly supplied orders are non-refundable or subject to a minimum surcharge of 50%. Engine-management systems and associated sensors cannot be returned for refund but may be returned for warranty repair.
Customers should insure vehicles worth more than £10,000. Goods left without payment attract storage at £15 per day for the first six months. Storage may be backdated for up to six years at £20 per day if funds are not provided to complete an agreed project. After one year, the company may dispose of goods or a vehicle to recover costs unless separately agreed.
